Samvel Karapetyan sues Nikol Pashinyan: he demands an apology and 3 million drams
Billionaire and leader of the "Powerful Armenia" party Samvel Karapetyan has filed a civil lawsuit against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The basis for the lawsuit were certain fragments of Pashinyan's speeches during the election campaign concerning Karapetyan.
In particular, the entrepreneur asked the court to oblige Nikol Pashinyan to publicly apologize to him for the insult voiced on May 29.
Karapetyan demands that the prime minister publish the text of the apology live by means of a video recording under the heading: "I, Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan, ask forgiveness from Samvel Sargisovich Karapetyan."
"The video with the apology and the heading must not contain any additions or comments on the part of Nikol Pashinyan or any third party, but must contain exclusively the text of the apology," the statement of claim says.
As compensation for the insult, Karapetyan demands that 3 million drams ($8,260) be recovered from Pashinyan, as well as the amount of court costs, consisting of the state fee and the amount of reasonable attorney's fees.
The statement of claim was submitted to the court on September 9.
