Kazakhstan has applied for full membership in the EBU to take part in Eurovision 2027
Kazakhstan intends to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, which will be held in Bulgaria.
As 1news.az reports, this became known from the response of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Information to an inquiry from the Eurovision Kazakhstan project (@esc_kaz).
According to the data provided, the national broadcaster Khabar Agency has applied for full membership in the European Broadcasting Union — obtaining such status is regarded as a necessary step for Kazakhstan's participation in Eurovision.
The question of Kazakhstan's possible debut at the contest has been under discussion for several years.
It is known that Khabar Agency received an invitation to take part in the first edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Asia — the Asian version of the popular song contest, whose launch is expected in the near future.
At present, the EBU has not officially confirmed the receipt or approval of Khabar Agency's application, nor Kazakhstan's participation in Eurovision 2027.
