Romania scrambles F-16s over aerial targets near the border with Ukraine
On Friday morning, Romania scrambled F-16 fighter jets to monitor aerial targets that approached the country's border with Ukraine.
This was reported by "European Pravda" with reference to Romania's Ministry of Defense.
According to the Romanian Defense Ministry, on September 11 at around 04:15, the radar system detected a group of aerial targets approximately 16 km north of Vylkove in the Odesa region. At the same time, Ukraine's Air Force reported the movement of Russian drones in the direction of the Odesa region.
The National Military Command Center passed the information to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. At 04:36, the agency sent a RO-Alert notification to residents of the northern part of Tulcea County.
To monitor the situation, two F-16 fighter jets of the Romanian Air Force took off from the 86th Air Base in Borcea.
