Vucic to resign as president of Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will resign from his post on September 25-26.

He announced this in response to a question from the N1 television channel at a press conference.

"I will resign immediately after returning from New York. It will be September 25 or 26, that's all," the politician said.

At the same conference, Vucic announced an increase in wages and pensions starting December 1, as well as the payment of compensation and assistance to citizens.

On September 9, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic signed a decree dissolving the Skupstina (parliament) and set the date for early parliamentary elections for October 25.
