Trump again voices support for the unification of Ireland

U.S. President Donald Trump has once again spoken out in support of the unification of Northern Ireland with the Republic of Ireland.

According to him, the unification of the island is a natural development of events.

Trump noted that the United Kingdom, which includes Northern Ireland, will also take part in resolving this issue.

At the same time, the American leader declined to comment on the possibility of Scottish independence, saying that he would leave that topic "for another day."

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin called the reaction of opponents of unification to Trump's words excessive. Martin himself supports the unification of Ireland, but believes that it is unlikely in the near future.
