Trump again said he asked Zelensky not to strike oil refineries in Russia

The head of the White House, Donald Trump, said he asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky not to strike diesel fuel production facilities in the Russian Federation.

"The problem I have with Ukraine and Russia is that there is currently a significant increase in prices for diesel fuel. A significant part of it comes from Russia. And Russian facilities are being hit by Ukraine. And I asked President Zelensky not to strike diesel fuel production facilities, refineries," he told reporters.

This is not the first such statement by Trump. Earlier, the U.S. president had already said that he urged Zelensky to stop strikes on Russian diesel fuel, since such attacks allegedly lead to its shortage in the world.

In early July, during the public part of his meeting with Zelensky, Trump noted that Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries are an escalation capable of leading to the end of the war.

This week, Trump said that at the beginning of the week he had a "wonderful" conversation with Putin and that the Russian leader wants to reach an agreement to put an end to the war in Ukraine.
