Elon Musk: AI could be more dangerous than nuclear weapons
SpaceX head Elon Musk recalled that as long as 12 years ago he warned about the serious threats posed by artificial intelligence (AI).
"12 years ago," he wrote on X. He accompanied with this comment a repost of his August 2, 2014 publication, which said that one "needs to be super careful with AI," which is "potentially more dangerous than nukes."
Earlier, the director of the American company Anthropic, Dario Amodei, published an article calling for a slowdown in the pace of development of advanced AI models. Amodei noted that through a coordinated slowdown in the speed of work on advanced technologies, AI companies would be able to "win one or two years of additional time before the models reach critical levels" of development, and avoid serious miscalculations. Musk agreed with the head of Anthropic, as did Sam Altman, the director of the major American technology company OpenAI.
