Russia planned killings of Ukraine supporters in the U.S. and Europe, the FBI reports.

U.S. authorities have brought charges against five people allegedly linked to Russian intelligence services. According to investigators, they tried to recruit people for surveillance, killings, and attacks on civilian and military infrastructure in Western countries, the Associated Press reports.

The FBI said that this summer the suspects tried to hire a person in the United States to conduct surveillance on an unnamed Russian dissident and kill him. He was offered $40,000 to carry out the task, but he refused.
