Macron: Fuel prices in France have become unbearable
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the rise in fuel prices at gas stations has become unbearable for the French. According to him, the situation is aggravated by the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and disruptions in fuel supplies.
“The blockades directly affect our daily lives. The French feel it at gas stations, where prices have become unbearable,” Macron wrote on X following talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan and President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon.
The French leader emphasized the importance of preserving freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, the Red Sea, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
According to Macron, the authorities are continuing work to reduce tensions and ensure oil supplies.
Amid the supply problems, the cost of gasoline and diesel fuel in France has approached 3 euros per liter. Some gas stations are also experiencing fuel shortages.
