Media: Husband and wife detained for drug trafficking aboard the Abraham Lincoln

A married couple serving in the U.S. Navy has been detained for distributing narcotic substances aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which resulted in one of the sailors dying of an overdose.

This was reported by the newspaper The New York Post (NYP), citing court documents.

Bailey Schramowski and his wife Johnnie Pumaihealani admitted after their detention that they had been selling cocaine, fentanyl, and oxycodone to crew members since 2022. According to the court's findings, Schramowski is accused of causing the death of one of the sailors from a fentanyl overdose in January 2023, after which he continued to sell substances from the same source.

Sentencing for both defendants is scheduled for December 11. According to NYP, Schramowski faces up to 40 years in prison, and Pumaihealani up to 20 years.
