Alexander Plushenko, representing Azerbaijan, placed 16th after the short program at the ISU Junior Grand Prix figure skating event in Ankara.

The skater received 57.12 points for his performance. The leader after the short program was Japan's Daiya Ebihara, who scored 72.46 points. The participants will present their free programs on Saturday.
For the son of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko, this tournament was his first under the auspices of the ISU.
Alexander received Azerbaijani sports citizenship in May 2026.
