Real lose to Atlético in the Madrid derby
Real Madrid lost away to Atlético Madrid in the capital derby in a match of the 7th round of Spain's La Liga.
As 1news.az reports, the meeting at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano ended with a score of 2:1.
In the 52nd minute, with the score at 0:0, the center-back of the "Merengues" Dean Huijsen received a straight red card for a last-man foul on Giuliano Simeone. A penalty kick was awarded against Real, which was converted by Alejandro Grimaldo. Already in the 59th minute, Jonathan David, with an assist from Simeone, doubled the advantage of the "Mattress Makers."
In the 89th minute, Real defender Antonio Rüdiger pulled back one of the conceded goals. The "Royal Club" had no strength left for more.
After six matches, Atlético has collected 16 points and occupies second place in the La Liga table. Real has earned 15 points and is in fourth place.
In the next round, the "Mattress Makers" will face Alavés on October 10, and José Mourinho's charges will play a match against Villarreal on the same day.
