Harvey Weinstein sentenced to another 15 years in prison
Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting former television production employee Miriam Haley in 2006.
This was reported by The Guardian.
The New York prosecutor's office had asked for a 20-year prison term for Weinstein, while the defense insisted on a nine-year sentence.
In 2024, Weinstein's previous conviction in New York was overturned by the state's highest court, after which a new trial was ordered. At the retrial in 2025, he was again found guilty in the case of M. Haley.
It should be noted that 74-year-old H. Weinstein also continues to serve a sentence in a separate case in California, where in 2022 he was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
