Contract signed for the delivery of 14 Turkish Hürkuş-II aircraft to Azerbaijan

The head of Turkey's Defense Industry Agency, Haluk Görgün, announced the signing of contracts for the delivery of 14 HÜRKUŞ-II aircraft and various systems to Azerbaijan.

Görgün noted that the two countries, which always support each other in the event of natural disasters, during wars and in any other situation, are today cooperating in the field of the defense industry for the sake of peace and stability in the region.

Noting that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev this trust and unity continue to be embodied in concrete projects, he said that at the Azerbaijan International Defense Industry Exhibition 2026, held in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, contracts were signed that will strengthen the defense capabilities of both countries.

The head of the agency noted that, within the framework of the agreements, contracts were signed for the delivery of the HÜRKUŞ aircraft with the company TUSAŞ, MIZRAK smart maneuvering munitions with the company BAYKAR, the Antidot system with the company BAYKAR, the "Barbaros" coastal defense system with the company ROKETSAN, as well as a memorandum of understanding on the delivery of the ALP-100 radar with the company ASELSAN.

The total value of the deliveries exceeds 500 million dollars, and 14 HÜRKUŞ-II aircraft will be delivered to Azerbaijan: "During this year we will promptly carry out the deliveries to Azerbaijan, exactly as we do for our Air Force."

Emphasizing that the longstanding cooperation is deepening in the fields of education and production, Görgün also reported the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on academic cooperation between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the Defense Industry Agency, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense Industry and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Science and Education; an Agreement between MSTİM and the Defense Industry Academy in the field of R&D, education and cooperation between universities and industry; a Preliminary Agreement between ASELSAN and NOVASIS on the construction of a plant in Nakhchivan; a Memorandum of Understanding between "Boğaziçi Savunma" and NOVASIS on establishing a partnership for the development of RF-based systems; a Protocol on Cooperation between "Kayı Savunma" and NOVASIS; a Memorandum of Understanding between MKE and MİRAS on strategic cooperation and business development; an Agreement on cooperation in the field of logistics support between OTOKAR and MİRAS.
