Pashinyan Attacks Former Presidents of Armenia

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made sharp statements against his political opponents — former presidents of the country Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan.

The head of the Armenian government posted the corresponding remarks on his Facebook page.

“They constantly insist that I dragged Armenia into war. If it was me who brought Armenia into war, then what was an 18-year-old Armenian soldier doing outside the territory of the Republic of Armenia in 2018? By the way, those were not your children and grandchildren.

And why didn’t you send your grandchildren and children to the so-called ‘peace zone’? Answer: where were your children at that time, and what were they doing?” Pashinyan wrote.

He stated that each of the three former Armenian presidents dragged Armenia and the Armenians of Karabakh into war, while they themselves fled.

“Some ‘victorious presidents,’ indeed. Reflecting on the history of the Third Republic, I was horrified to realize that none of these so-called ‘victorious presidents’ — can you imagine, not one — ever received a vote of confidence from the people.

Listen, if you supposedly brought victory to the people, can you explain why you falsified elections since 1996? How could the people not elect leaders who supposedly gave them victory? How?

And the people didn’t elect you because, incidentally, the analysts you paid for, the ‘popular and honored’ artists, the mothers who feed Armenia, and the governor-fathers who silently stood behind you, all understood that it was not you who brought victory, but that you dragged Armenia into a pit with no way out.

And now you are dying, realizing that a way out was found at the cost of thousands of lives. You are dying in the literal sense — three times a day: morning, noon, and evening,” Pashinyan wrote.

According to him, Ter-Petrosyan, who today speaks in support of Armenian Catholicos Garegin II, did not respect him in 2008.

“On March 1, 2008, Ter-Petrosyan left Ktrich Nersisyan (Garegin II — ed.) at the gates of his house, not allowing him onto the premises. Now he is defending Nersisyan. The ‘great one’ should apologize to Ktrich for not letting him past the dog kennel on March 1, 2008.”

The Prime Minister once again asked his opponents whether they intend to take part in public debates with him:

“When the people are happy, the famous trio that flees from debates — that is sad. Now the people rejoice because there is peace, because not a single soldier is dying.” And, according to him, “the trio that ran from debates” has fallen into despair because of this.

“The actual number of casualties is not enough for them, and they never miss a chance to increase the number of victims they dream of, especially since that number is not rising,” Pashinyan concluded.
