Western Azerbaijan Community Responds to Accusations by European Parliamentarians
A group of members of the European Parliament sent a letter to the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, in a spirit of slander and hatred toward Azerbaijan.
The Western Azerbaijan Community issued a statement in protest against this.
The statement notes that against the backdrop of the initialing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the start of even trade relations, and the official visit of the President of the European Council, António Costa, to Azerbaijan, European parliamentarians with such an approach are pouring water on the mill of revanchist circles in Armenia and beyond. In this regard, providing airtime to the remnants of the puppet regime on the France 24 channel also raises numerous questions. Why are some in Europe, who still cling to 'old fables' against Azerbaijan, so concerned about the establishment of peace in the region?
'We strongly condemn the approach of European parliamentarians who pontificate about the return of Armenians who voluntarily left Karabakh while simultaneously denying our right, the right of Western Azerbaijanis, to return to our native hearths in Armenia, and who view human rights and humanitarian issues through the lens of ethnic and religious bias,' the statement of the Western Azerbaijan Community emphasizes.
