Netanyahu: Iran launched intercontinental ballistic missile at Diego Garcia

During a visit to the site of a rocket strike in the southern city of Arad, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged world leaders to involve their countries in a joint Israeli-American military campaign against Iran, mentioning Tehran's recent launch of a missile aimed at the British-American military base in the Indian Ocean on Diego Garcia over the past weekend, reports the Times of Israel.

"They launched an intercontinental ballistic missile at Diego Garcia... Now they have the capability to reach deep into Europe. They are holding everyone at gunpoint. And [they] are blocking an international maritime route, an energy route, and trying to blackmail the entire world," he added, referring to Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil artery.

"It is time to see the leaders of other countries join in," the Israeli prime minister said.

Netanyahu also stated that some countries are beginning to move toward joining the campaign, without specifying who exactly or in what capacity, only adding that "more is needed."

Netanyahu also condemned Iranian attacks near holy sites in Jerusalem.

"They fired on Jerusalem in close proximity to the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions: the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Miraculously, none of them were damaged, but their target was the holy sites of the three main monotheistic religions," he said.

When asked by a reporter what his response would be to Iran's attacks on Israeli civilians, the prime minister replied: "We are using great force, but not against civilians. We are targeting the regime. We will pursue the IRGC, this criminal group, and we will pursue them personally, their leaders, their facilities, their economic assets. We will pursue them in the most determined manner."
