IRIB: Iran could earn $64 billion from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz
Iran's annual revenue from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz could reach at least $64 billion if a fee of $2 million per ship is imposed, according to Hasan Abedini, deputy head of the Iranian state broadcasting company.
“The Strait of Hormuz has become a corridor under the prudent management of Iran. Considering that 32,000 ships passed through the strait last year, and if a fee of $2 million is charged for each, Iran could earn about $64 billion,” he said on state television.
