Put an end: Harsh words about Trump in the Senate

Americans must stop their president, Donald Trump, for the sake of preserving peace with Iran and improving the state of affairs in the country, stated Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic minority leader, on the social network X.

"And if he resumes this war, we will be in an even worse position. We must adopt a war powers resolution to put an end to this war once and for all," he wrote.

According to him, the war with Iran has worsened the current situation in the U.S. compared to what it was before the confrontation with Tehran.

"Trump is a military fool," the senator concluded.

The War Powers Resolution, adopted on November 7, 1973, is a joint resolution of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, equivalent to federal law. It requires the head of the White House to consult with the U.S. Congress "in every possible instance" before sending U.S. armed forces abroad.

In March, the U.S. Senate rejected a war powers resolution concerning President Donald Trump, which was intended to block the escalation of military actions with Iran.

President of the United States Donald Trump announced on the night of April 8 that an agreement had been reached with Iran for a two-week ceasefire. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi later announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for about 20% of global supplies of oil, petroleum products, and LNG.
