WSJ: Israel was dissatisfied with the US approach to organizing a truce with Iran
Israel's leadership was extremely dissatisfied with the US approach to organizing a truce with Iran, as Washington notified the Jewish state of the ceasefire at the last moment and without prior consultations.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.
According to the publication, US President Donald Trump, shortly before announcing the truce, called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and presented him with a fait accompli, without coordinating his actions regarding the ceasefire. Nevertheless, Israel agreed to participate in the truce during the dialogue.
At the same time, Israeli authorities expressed dissatisfaction with the initial demands to include Lebanon in the ceasefire regime. As a result, the Jewish state publicly stated that it does not intend to halt military operations there against the Hezbollah movement.
