Media Development Agency exposes fake news about missile launches from Azerbaijan

The Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan (MDA) has issued a statement regarding the recent spread of information on some social media platforms claiming that missiles were allegedly launched from the territory of the republic towards countries in the Persian Gulf.

Calling this information 'completely unfounded and not corresponding to reality,' the MDA emphasized that the dissemination of such information on social media, against the backdrop of existing tensions in the region, serves to form false perceptions in public opinion and bears the character of deliberate disinformation.

'We strongly condemn such attempts. Claims of this nature are either deliberately provocative or the result of an extremely irresponsible and unfounded approach,' the Agency stressed.

It notes that, given modern technological capabilities, it is not difficult to determine the direction from which a missile or other flying object was launched, and countries in the region and the Persian Gulf possess advanced radar systems and surveillance surveillance systems, which clearly determine the origin and trajectory of objects.

'We declare that the Republic of Azerbaijan remains consistently committed to the principles of international law, the sovereignty of states, and the preservation of regional stability. We urge all parties to rely only on verified and reliable sources and to refrain from disseminating unconfirmed information.'

'We call on media entities and social media users to demonstrate high professionalism and responsibility when disseminating information, to rely solely on official and trustworthy sources, and to avoid spreading dubious and manipulative information,' the statement emphasized.
