Fidan: NATO summit in Ankara may become the most important in its history
The upcoming NATO summit in Ankara in July may become the most important in the history of the alliance.
In Turkey, they are counting on the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump, stated the country's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"The NATO summit, which will take place in Turkey, may become the most important in NATO's history," Fidan said, commenting on the situation within the alliance amid statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
"We believe that Trump will attend the NATO summit in Ankara at the invitation of our president [Recep Tayyip Erdogan]. Usually, he [Trump] does not show a desire to participate in NATO summits," Fidan told the Anadolu agency.
