Hezbollah declares it will not accept results of Lebanon-Israel negotiations

The Shia movement Hezbollah will not accept any agreements that may be reached during direct negotiations between Israel and Lebanon in the US this week.

A representative of the movement, Wafik Safa, stated this to the Associated Press agency.

"As for the results of the negotiations between Lebanon and the Israeli enemies, they are of no interest or concern to us. We will not consider ourselves bound by whatever they agree on," Safa said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously stated that during the negotiations with the Lebanese side on April 14, the Jewish state would aim to achieve the disarmament of Hezbollah not only in the southern border areas but throughout the entire territory of the republic. Both sides will be represented at the ambassadorial level in the US.
