Smuggling of jewelry from Turkey to Azerbaijan thwarted
Employees of the Main Customs Department for Air Transport have prevented an attempt to illegally import jewelry, medicinal drugs, and cigarettes from Turkey to Azerbaijan.
This was reported by 1news.az with reference to the State Customs Committee.
During the inspection of the luggage and carry-on items of two Azerbaijani citizens arriving on the Trabzon-Baku flight, undeclared goods were discovered, including 334 grams of gold jewelry, 2,264 tablets, 84 capsules, 47 vials, and 14 injections (8 types of medicines), as well as 1,200 packs of cigarettes without mandatory labeling.
It is noted that the goods were hidden in suitcases, carry-on bags, and a baby stroller.
An investigation into the matter is underway.
