U.S. military continues blockade of Strait of Hormuz despite Trump's statement on its opening

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) continues to enforce a blockade of ships entering and leaving Iranian ports.

This was stated in a message from the U.S. military on the social network X.

"American naval vessels are patrolling the Gulf of Oman, while the U.S. Central Command continues to enforce the blockade of ships entering and exiting Iranian ports," the command's statement reads.

U.S. forces remain vigilant and ready to ensure compliance with the blockade, the military emphasized.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he was "permanently" opening the Strait of Hormuz for China and the rest of the world. He added that such a situation would never happen again.
