In Armenia, voter bribery scheme thwarted: 14 people detained

The Anti-Corruption Committee reported the detention of 14 citizens on suspicion of giving and receiving pre-election bribes.

This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the committee.

Earlier, the press secretary of the 'Strong Armenia' party, Marianna Kahrramanyan, stated that 15 party supporters were taken into custody in Artashat, with one of them facing charges.

It should be noted that earlier, members of the 'Strong Armenia' party, Goar Gumashyan and Verzhine Stepanyan, were detained on charges of violating the ban on charity during the period following the presidential decree scheduling parliamentary elections. They were later released under administrative supervision.
