Rubio to participate in talks between presidents of Lebanon and Israel
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will act as a mediator in the first video contact between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
This was reported by the Al Jadeed channel, citing a diplomatic source.
"These will be trilateral negotiations, and Secretary Rubio will participate in them, as he is the curator of the Lebanese-Israeli track," the source noted.
On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Netanyahu and Aoun would hold talks on Thursday. According to him, this will be the first conversation between the leaders of Israel and Lebanon in 34 years.
