Tsunami threat declared in Japan after 7.4 magnitude earthquake
A 7.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the northern part of Honshu Island in Japan.
This was reported by the NHK channel, citing the country's meteorological agency.
The seismic event occurred in Aomori Prefecture, according to RT. The maximum intensity of the earthquake reached 5+ on a scale of seven.
Following the tremors, a tsunami threat was declared along the Pacific coast from Hokkaido Island to the northern part of Honshu.
Earlier, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred on Sulawesi Island in Indonesia.
