Iran reports breakthrough of its tanker through US blockade
An Iranian oil tanker, Silly City, with the support of the Navy, has broken through the US blockade and entered the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic.
This was reported by Tasnim.
“Despite numerous warnings and threats from the US naval group, the Iranian tanker Silly City, with operational support from the Navy (...), after passing through the Arabian Sea last night, entered Iranian territorial waters and has been anchored at one of the southern ports of Iran for several hours,” the agency reported, citing a statement from the army press service.
On April 20, the US seized the Iranian vessel Touska in the Gulf of Oman, which was attempting to break through the blockade. The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmaíl Baghaei, stated that the actions of the American side constitute aggression and a violation of the terms of the truce.
