On April 29, 2026, another meeting was held with leading media representatives within the framework of the Peace Bridge Initiative.

1news.az reports that during the meeting, attended by representatives of the Initiative, Farhad Mammadov, Director of the South Caucasus Research Center and coordinator of the Peace Bridge Initiative, delivered an opening speech, providing detailed information about the platform's goals and activities.

It was noted at the event that the stage leading up to the parliamentary elections in Armenia holds special importance in the ongoing negotiations with the country. Various approaches to the issue of peace exist within society, and in this regard, the parliamentary elections are crucial for both the future of the process and the assessment of the level of public readiness.

It was emphasized that activities within the framework of the Peace Initiative are carried out without any foreign funding, which is a principled stance of the Azerbaijani side.

The important role of the media in the peace process was highlighted. It was stated that additional measures should be taken to prevent provocative materials in the information space and to promote a responsible approach. The media environment has specific characteristics, and certain challenges exist in this area. Issues related to the adaptation of terminological approaches in information resources were also discussed.

Media representatives participating in the event noted that the implementation of joint projects on television and other platforms could contribute to the peace process. It was mentioned that organizing telebridges, preparing discussion programs, and facilitating expert exchanges could be effective tools in this direction.

Additionally, the importance of establishing direct connections between Armenian and Azerbaijani media was emphasized, as well as the necessity of avoiding hate speech in the information space.

In conclusion, it was stated that the media should play a more active role in correctly defining mutual expectations and increasing public interest in this process.
