Pashinyan to file another lawsuit against Samvel Karapetyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he intends to file a third lawsuit against the leader of the Strong Armenia party, Russian entrepreneur Samvel Karapetyan, or against his political association.

This time it is over the claim that Pashinyan allegedly stated that 300,000 Azerbaijanis are preparing to resettle in Armenia, the prime minister said.

"I will report that I will file another lawsuit. <...> Yesterday after the interview with Armenia TV they stated that I confirmed that 300,000 Azerbaijanis will return or come to Armenia. In this regard, I will file a third lawsuit, and I think that in this case Samvel Karapetyan should bring a third apology," he said.

On May 14 the prime minister filed a lawsuit against Karapetyan over the businessman’s statement that Pashinyan brought about a ton of hallucinogenic mushrooms from China and uses them before performances. The prime minister demands a refutation in the media and compensation in the amount of 6 million drams (about $16,200).

On May 25 Pashinyan said he intends to file a second lawsuit against Karapetyan over statements that he owns a house in Canada.
