Araghchi: Israel must completely stop aggression against Lebanon

Responsibility for implementing the US-Iran agreement, including halting Israeli aggression against Lebanon, rests entirely with the United States.

This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

"Araghchi in these phone conversations [with colleagues from Turkey, Egypt, and Iraq] pointed to US responsibility in implementing the agreement and stressed the need for a complete end to the aggression of the Zionist regime (meaning Israel - TASS note) against Lebanon," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement following the minister's phone calls.

Earlier, officials from the United States, Iran, and Pakistan, which is acting as mediator, confirmed that an agreement had been reached between Washington and Tehran. It is scheduled to be signed in Geneva on June 19. According to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, during the 60-day ceasefire the parties will discuss, among other things, Tehran's nuclear program, and starting June 15 the US naval blockade of Iran will end, along with an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
