Starting from this day Meta will begin charging users new commissions
Meta will soon begin charging new location fees for displaying ads in certain jurisdictions.
"This is necessary to cover digital services taxes and other location-based fees charged to Meta in these jurisdictions. Starting July 1, 2026, location fees will be applied to certain advertising accounts," the letters sent by Meta state.
Location fees are additional charges levied when displaying ads in certain jurisdictions. They cover part of the costs associated with doing business in these jurisdictions. The presence of the fee depends not on the company's location, but on the jurisdiction where the audience is located and where the ad is shown.
Below are the current location fees that will be added to advertising costs after it is shown in the respective jurisdictions.
- Austria - 5 %
- France - 3 %
- Italy - 3 %
- Spain - 3 %
- Turkey - 5 %
- United Kingdom - 2 %
Meta notes that the listed jurisdictions and rates may change over time.
