FIFA may lift ban on Russian teams amid IOC decision

The International Federation of Football (FIFA) will discuss lifting the ban on Russian teams participating in international tournaments, Sky News was told in the organization.

The reason for this was the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to lift the suspension from the Russian Olympic Committee and remove recommendations to international federations to restrict the participation of Russians in competitions.

«FIFA was informed of the IOC's decision to temporarily lift the suspension from the Russian Olympic Committee. FIFA will analyze this decision before determining the next steps in coordination with the relevant stakeholders,» the federation said.
