IV Shusha global media forum to discuss mission of media in promoting peace
13–14 July in the city of Shusha the IV Shusha Global Media Forum will take place, reports the Media Development Agency (MEDİA).
The Shusha Global Media Forum, which has already become one of the authoritative international platforms, this year will be devoted to the theme “The mission of media in promoting peace: restoring truth and strengthening trust.”
The forum will be attended by about 160 media representatives, experts and officials from 54 countries of the world. The event will feature about 30 international news agencies and more than 60 leading media organizations. In addition, representatives of about 10 international organizations and companies will take part in the forum.
The forum will include panel discussions, bilateral meetings and interactive sessions devoted to topical issues such as the role of media in peacebuilding, cross-border media dialogue and restoration of public trust, international cooperation in combating disinformation, creation of a secure information environment on digital platforms, media ethics and responsible journalism in the era of artificial intelligence.
The forum aims, by emphasizing the importance of responsible behavior in the media sphere, to promote practical measures to restore undermined trust between societies, strengthen digital solidarity and ensure peace.
In 2022 the International Media Forum on the topic “Global trends in media, new challenges” was held for the first time. In subsequent years this initiative was continued in the format of the Shusha Global Media Forum. Thus, the I Shusha Global Media Forum, held in 2023, was devoted to the theme “New media in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” the II forum, held in 2024, to the theme “Exposing false information: combating disinformation,” and the III forum, held in 2025, to the theme “Digital transitions: strengthening the resilience of information and media in the era of artificial intelligence.”
During the forums the Shusha Global Media Forum, which has united about 600 authoritative media representatives, experts and officials from 81 countries, has strengthened its position as one of the leading international platforms for discussing the global media agenda.
At the forum sessions in previous years, issues of digital transformation, the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on the media industry and news production processes, the opportunities and challenges created by these technologies, innovations in the media sphere, as well as strengthening international cooperation and solidarity in combating disinformation were widely discussed. The rapid changes taking place in recent years in the global information environment have further increased the relevance of these topics. In this regard, as a continuation of the discussions started at previous forums, these directions will also become one of the key directions of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum and will be examined in detail in the context of contemporary challenges.
