Opening ceremony of Vagif Poetry Days held in Shusha

The official opening ceremony of the Vagif Poetry Days, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and running from July 16 to 18, was held in Shusha.

The event, organized on July 17 in front of the mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif, was attended by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, Special Representative of the President in the Shusha District Aydin Karimov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, representatives of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan (UWA), as well as writers and poets from the Turkic world.

Speaking at the event, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev called the Vagif Poetry Days one of the brightest events in the name of culture and literature. Drawing attention to the rich program of the current poetry days, the secretary general noted that these events also contribute to the development of cultural ties between Turkic states.

People's Poet Vahid Aziz in his speech emphasized that the Vagif Poetry Days serve to promote literature and culture. Deputy Chairman of the UWA, Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan Rashad Majid emphasized the importance of this poetry festival.

After the speeches, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the "Future of the Word: Festival of Young Poets of the Turkic World" held in Aghdam.

Then the opening event continued with an artistic composition.
