Global outage in Facebook and Instagram operations
Many users around the world over the past hour are reporting a large-scale outage in the operation of Meta platforms — Facebook and Instagram, due to which it is impossible to access accounts or use the services normally.
According to reports, some users are unable to log into their accounts or use the services normally.
On Facebook, some users see a message that their "account is temporarily unavailable" due to a site error, as well as a recommendation to try again in a few minutes.
Other users report that pages do not load at all, even after switching to another browser or another computer.
On Instagram, users report a number of outages, including Reels videos that do not play, a feed that does not update, new photos and posts that do not load, and in some cases even a white screen with no content. Some users note that the app opens but displays only old content that was previously loaded.
According to reports, attempts to close the app, switch between networks, or restart the device have not resolved the issue. It is currently unclear whether the outage affects all users or only certain regions, devices, and accounts.
Meta has not yet issued an official statement about the source of the outage or its scale.
