Armenia may lose 80 percent of revenues from cheese exports
Armenia will lose more than 80% of its revenues from cheese exports if it loses the Russian market.
By the end of 2025, the country's revenues from these supplies to world markets amounted to $16.4 million, of which Russia accounts for $13.5 million.
At the same time, the latter is not only the largest buyer of cheese from Armenia, but also the only state that consistently imported this product every month in amounts worth millions.
Other major buyers in 2025 were the United States ($1.8 million) and Georgia ($670,900).
Rosselkhoznadzor reported the day before that, based on the results of inspections of local enterprises, it is temporarily restricting supplies of all dairy products from Armenia.
From June 12, the agency suspended the import of all quarantine products from this country, as well as transit through Russia to member states of the EAEU. It emphasized that these measures are not related to politics but to quality issues.
