Georgia opens case under sabotage article in connection with blackout
The State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia has opened a criminal case under the sabotage article in connection with the large-scale power outage in the country on July 24 and 25.
This is stated in the SSS statement.
"The State Security Service of Georgia, in connection with repeated emergency power outages across the country, has opened a criminal case under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (sabotage, TASS note), which implies obstructing the normal functioning or damaging/destroying a state enterprise or other important object in order to create a threat to the state interests of Georgia," the statement says.
