Putin told how Tokayev's father was treated in Omsk after being wounded in 1945
The father of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev underwent treatment in Omsk in the winter of 1945 after a serious wound, so for the Kazakh leader this city is not an ordinary place in Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan held bilateral negotiations in Omsk before participating in the Forum of interregional cooperation between the two countries.
"For you too, Omsk is not an ordinary place in Russia. Here after a serious wound in the winter of 1945 the father of the incumbent president Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich underwent treatment," Putin said at the meeting.
