Trump threatens to resume large-scale combat operations against Iran

The United States will resume large-scale combat operations against Iran if it does not achieve "100% of what it wants."

President of the United States Donald Trump stated this in a telephone conversation with journalist Sonia Dridi of the French television channel LCI.

According to the journalist, who published her remarks on the social network X, Trump did not specify exactly what demands Washington is making of Tehran.

Recall that the portal Axios earlier reported that on the night of July 25, Trump ordered an end to airstrikes on Iran that had lasted nearly two weeks. According to the publication, this occurred against the backdrop of negotiations conducted by representatives of Oman in Tehran.

As Axios notes, during the meeting some progress was achieved on the issue of possibly resuming navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

In the publication's opinion, the suspension of American strikes may indicate the U.S. administration's desire to create conditions for a diplomatic settlement, as well as the fact that the current scale of the military operation has reached the limit of its effectiveness.
