Kremlin insists on speedy referendum on Armenia's foreign policy choice

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not name exact dates for holding a referendum in the country on joining the European Union during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This was stated to journalists by Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"No, exact dates were not named," said the Kremlin representative, answering the question of whether Pashinyan reported the timeframe in which the referendum could take place. "But nevertheless [in the conversation] the need for the speedy holding of such a referendum was emphasized. This is very important," Peskov stressed.
