Ukrainians attacked 4 tankers in the Black and Azov seas
The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brovdi ("Madyar"), announced an attack on a boat base, four tankers in the Black and Azov seas, a site for storing and launching drones in the so-called "DPR," as well as air defense elements.
According to him, since July 6, Ukrainian troops have attacked a total of 205 tankers. Brovdi did not give the names of the vessels attacked on the night of July 30 or their ownership.
On the morning of July 30, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) reported that the tanker Nissos Sifnos, which sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands (the shipper is Tengizchevroil), had been attacked that night. The vessel was loading oil at the CPC's single point mooring SPM-3. This facility is located in the Black Sea waters near Novorossiysk.
As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on the cargo deck, which was extinguished by the tanker's crew with the participation of three CPC auxiliary vessels. The tanker remained afloat, no oil spill occurred, and no one was injured, the consortium stated.
Another tanker, the Marathi, was attacked 6 nautical miles (more than 11 km) from the CPC marine terminal; it was heading to take on oil. According to the company, the vessel sails under the flag of the Isle of Man. According to data from the Marine Traffic service, the tanker flies the flag of Malta.
