Pavel Durov explains why he ended up on Russia's list of terrorists and extremists
On July 30, it became known that Telegram founder Pavel Durov had been added to Russia's list of terrorists and extremists.
P. Durov is now included in the registry of persons in respect of whom there is information about their involvement in extremist activity or terrorism.
The Telegram founder commented on this situation on his official Telegram channel, where he noted the following: "Russia has added me to the list of 'terrorists' for refusing to comply with its demands for mass surveillance and censorship on Telegram. Under Russian law, I am prohibited from 'publishing information on the internet.' It seems Russian officials have become completely confused about who can ban whom on the internet."
