Law enforcement officers search Narek Karapetyan's house

Since early morning, law enforcement officers in Armenia have been conducting searches at the house of Narek Karapetyan, a member of the political council of the opposition bloc "Strong Armenia."

This was reported by the press service of the political force.

"Early in the morning, law enforcement officers entered the private house of Narek Karapetyan and are conducting a search," the statement says.

The Investigative Committee told Sputnik Armenia that the searches are taking place within the framework of criminal proceedings.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office initiated public criminal prosecution against Karapetyan. The case is connected with the criminal proceedings under which Alik Aleksanyan, an associate of the leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, was arrested. Bail in the amount of 1 billion drams ($2.6 million) has been applied to Karapetyan.

Note that Aleksanyan is accused of money laundering on an especially large scale and bribing voters. This is not the first criminal proceeding in which the investigation considers payments to supporters of the "Strong Armenia" bloc as a possible hidden form of voter bribery.

According to the Investigative Committee, Aleksanyan, being the founder and executive director of the public organization "Po-svoyemu," received about $4.4 million and 230,000 euros from the "Tashir" foundation in the form of gifts and loans between October 2025 and March 2026.
