IRGC strikes tankers that attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite units of Iran's armed forces) opened fire on two tankers that attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without the consent of the Iranian side.
This was stated in a statement by the IRGC press service.
"Early this morning, two tankers that violated the rules <...> believing that they would be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz along an unapproved route under the cover of the U.S. Army from the air <...>, and ignored our warnings, were attacked and stopped. Four more tankers quickly changed course," the text says, as cited by the Iranian agency Fars.
