Trump states cancellation of strike on Iran conditional on concluding agreement

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he canceled the planned strike on Iran on the condition of the soonest conclusion of an agreement between the parties.

He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.

According to Trump, the United States is in full combat readiness, however Iran and other countries in the Middle East appealed to Washington to abandon the attack, since it was possible to agree on the general terms of the future agreement.

The American leader noted that the agreements provide for the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the cessation of the nuclear threat from Iran.

"Based on this request, I agreed to cancel the attack on the condition that it will be possible to quickly conclude an agreement," Trump wrote.

He also stated that Israel supports this decision and called on the parties to complete negotiations as soon as possible.
