About 65,000 people evacuated in China due to heavy rains

Chinese authorities evacuated about 65,000 people in Sichuan province in the southwest of the country due to heavy rains and the threat of flooding.

China Central Television reported this.

According to its data, on August 1, torrential rains again hit several cities in the province, including the administrative center Chengdu. In some areas, up to 186 mm of precipitation fell per day.

According to official data, since the beginning of the flood season, which started in May, a total of 881,000 people have been evacuated in Sichuan province.
