Ukraine's SBU strikes Saratov oil refinery and Engels airfield in Russia - VIDEO
The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck an oil refinery and Engels airfield in Russia's Saratov region on the night of August 2.
As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports on social media, hits followed by fires were recorded at the sites.
"On the night of August 2, 2026, as part of reducing Russia's military-economic potential, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Saratov oil refinery," the statement said.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the Saratov oil refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Volga region and participates in meeting the needs of Russia's military-industrial complex and Armed Forces.
In addition, the SBU struck Engels airfield in Russia's Saratov region. According to the military department, this air harbor is one of Russia's main strategic aviation bases, home to Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers regularly used to launch missile strikes on Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported strikes on other enemy targets, including the Lyudinovskaya oil depot in Lyudinovo, Kaluga region of Russia, and storage, preparation, and launch sites for strike UAVs near Navlya in Russia's Bryansk region.
