Six people arrested in Turkey in connection with forest fires
In the framework of the investigation into the causes of 44 forest fires that occurred since June 1 in 16 provinces of Turkey, 29 suspects have been identified.
Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek reported this on his page on the social network X.
According to him, nine people have been placed under judicial supervision as a preventive measure, and six suspects have been arrested. Investigative measures are ongoing.
Gürlek noted that the investigation is being conducted under the control of the Ministry of Justice. According to him, those guilty of intentional arson, as well as fires that occurred due to negligence or carelessness, will be punished in accordance with the law.
To date, the fires in Turkey have been completely brought under control.
